Peanut
section
|
Firstly,
what is a Peanut. Ok , leaving aside the obvious, in this context a Peanut
size model is defined as having either a maximum wingspan of 13" inches,
or a maximum fuselage length of 9" inches. These sizes are recognised by
the Federation International Aeronautique (FIA) which is the international governing
body of model aeroplane competition. Obviously, you don't have to compete in
order to fly a Peanut, due to their small size, they can be flown with great
success in school halls or small hall leisure centres.
Here we show you a selection of some of the designs available together with
a simple code to denote compexity and detail. Complex highly detailed kits will
have a capital 'C' after the description. Less complex kits will have a capital
'M' after and simple kits a capital 'S'.
Just because a kit is listed as simple, it does not mean that a lot more detail
cannot be added by you. Always remember however, that in most cases, detail
adds weight. If you are just starting out in Peanuts, it might be best to try
a simple design first and learn to build light so that on a later model, you
will be able to add more detail without loss of flying ability.

Peck Polymers Laser Cut Kits The next range we list are from Peck Polymers. These are complete kits with good quality laser cut or printwood, tissue, wheels etc. Again, there are many in the range which we don't show but do list. Full listing with pictures are of course in our Catalogue/Handbook. If you see a question mark instead of a pound sign , this a fault on our system that we don't seem to be able to cure. Read as pound sign. |

Hobbies WW1
Interesting
range of mainly WW1 period models. Simple structure allows for personal
super detailing if wanted. (They
incorporate the printed paper technique, the sheet wood patterns are printed
onto sticky backed paper which is stuck onto the balsa. You cut around
the part and only remove the paper when you are ready to use the piece.
This has the double advantage of helping the strengthen the wood during
cutting, and also, as the parts are printed on the paper, you don't lose
the part number until you are ready to use it.)
