About Us SAMS Models are a Mail Order business based in North Hertfordshire. We have over 35 years experience in the model aircraft trade. Callers are most welcome but please, do telephone or e mail for an appointment first. Please do not simply turn up, our postal address in not where we work from also, it can be complicated to get to us so you will need instructions.

Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

NOTE: Our shipping charges are quoted for packages less than 600mm long weighing under 2kgs. For packages over this length or weight the charges are considerably higher due to actual shipping cost. We will contact you by e mail or, telephone should you exceed the 600mm/2kg rate and qyote you the actual shipping charges.

We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.

We accept Visa and Mastercard, Amex & Meastro. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship with the exception of Flying Styro Kits when the item will be charged at the time of order. . Back ordered items value over £10 are not charged until they are shipped. Below £10 may be charged when 1st part of order is sent. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over our secure Internet shopping service.

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Shipping And Handling Shipping charges are by percentage of order value. In the UK, minimum postage is £4.50 up to order value of £40. Above £40 the charge is 10% of the order value. Note. If the value of the order is high and the weight of the package low, we very often reduce the postage charge. Conversly, if the package is very heavy or large, postage charges may be higher than 10%. We do not charge you more than it costs to post the item.
Postage to EU countries. Up to £10 is £5. Above £10 the charge is 15% of the order value OR the actual cost of postage.

To overseas countries outside the EU the cost of shipping is £6 for orders up to £10. Above £10 the cost is 20% of the order total OR the actual cost of shipping

Delivery Schedule Every effort is made to dispatch your order as soon as we receive it. If items are not in stock, we will usually inform you by e mail as long as you have provided us with your e mail address. Back order items are dispatched as soon as we recieve them. You will not be charged for items on back order over the value of £10. Under £10 may be charged at the time of dispatch of first delivery. Should any backorder item become unavailable, we will inform you by email and offer either a credit or full refund if the item has been paid for.

Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. e mail us to cancel if you would rather not wait.

Tax Charges For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% VAT is added except for book or plans which are exempt. All other orders to non EU countries are VAT free.

Credit Card Security When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. We no longer actually see your credit card details. Our secure service informs us that the payment has been made, we then dispatch the good. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
